The Guelph Turfgrass Institute is an interdepartmental unit in the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph. Departments which have a major role in the GTI include Plant Agriculture (turf physiology, management, breeding), Environmental Biology (diseases, weeds, and insect pests) and Land Resource Science (turfgrass soils and climate). Other University departments with an interest in turfgrass include Agricultural Engineering and Landscape Architecture.

The GTI is located at the Guelph Research Station, which is one of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food research stations managed by the University for the Province of Ontario. OMAFRA provides significant support to the operations of the GTI.

The turfgrass industry of Ontario is also a major partner in the GTI, providing research support and input.
