We have a very strong veterinary and animal sciences program here, as can be seen from the offerings below, but diverse courses relevant to animal welfare are also scattered across the Psychology, Philosophy, Economics and other departments.
Master’s students (by research) are required to take three courses. One of these may be a 4th year undergraduate course. For both Master's and Ph.D. students, the 'Seminar course’ and the ‘Animal Care Short Course’ are compulsory, but are not credit courses. Ph.D. students do not have a set minimum on the number of courses that are needed to be taken.
For further details e.g. re. the timings of particular courses, please consult the UofG Graduate and Undergraduate calendars. In addition to the courses listed below, further, more introductory-levels courses are also available in many topics across the University (although they do not count for credit): see the Undergraduate calendar for more details.
