The Portico
For 35 years, the University
of Guelph alumni magazine
has served as the main link between the University and its
graduates and friends. Published by Communications and Public Affairs,
the feature magazine boasts a readership of more than 78,000. Its mission
is to enhance the relationship between the University and its alumni
and to promote pride and commitment in the University community.
EXCITING, INFORMATIVE CONTENT
The Portico magazine appeals to a broad readership through compelling
stories about University of Guelph research accomplishments, award-winning
faculty, student activities and campus events. Well-researched and
finely crafted feature stories highlight current social, economic
and political issues; alumni profiles tell the stories of distinguished
Guelph graduates. The Portico provides comprehensive alumni
news and information about historical events on campus. Through the
sharing of these stories, the magazine helps alumni and friends to
stay in touch with the University and with each other.
EDUCATED, ENGAGED READERS
The Portico is published three times a year in January, May and
September. Three-quarters of its circulation resides in southwestern
Ontario. The magazine reaches educated consumers who enjoy higher
average salaries than the general population. Respondents to a recent
survey all reported that they read each issue from cover to cover,
and 40 per cent pass the publication along to friends.
FLEXIBILITY FOR ADVERTISERS
Produced as a four-colour feature magazine, the Portico provides
maximum flexibility to advertisers. Advertisers may choose from placement
in a prominent cover position to an inside spot in the magazine's
Grad News section, a "must-see" section for most readers.
Standard ad sizes include both horizontal and vertical layouts, and
are available in black and white and full colour.
