Overview:The MBA in Agribusiness program at the University of Guelph is an intensive 12 month degree designed to prepare participants for professional management careers in the agribusiness sector. The MBA program was developed in 1995. The program evolved from the Master in Agribusiness degree offered by the Agricultural Economics and Business Department which had been ongoing since 1990. The MBA in Agribusiness program is an interdepartmental degree which draws on the strengths of 4 Departments, the Departments of Agricultural Economics and Business, , Economics, Consumer Studies and the School of Hotel and Food Administration. The MBA program has a single entry point, September of every year. Students progress throughout the program as a group and teamwork is emphasized. The program is primarily comprised of full semester (12-week) courses along with a Major Final project ( See Courses for more details) |
| The first semester of the MBA program features a very intense course work load. The course material that is covered in this semester is very practical in nature with the intent of providing students with essential concepts and tools used in the business world today. |

Semester 2 (Winter)
| Semester two features a balance of courses teaching technical skills and interpersonal skills. Students are also encouraged to begin work on their final projects. |

| The extended major project option requires the student to complete a fourth consecutive semester in the Fall. This option provides students with an opportunity to work directly with industry while completing an academic project. |
