Alumni-In-Action – Committee Members
The AIA is a group of retired/senior alumni, faculty, staff, friends who engage in a number of activities throughout the year to support Alumni Affairs and Development, international students, the library and archives, and the arboretum, among other projects. Animal Care Services – Dog Walkers
Animal Care Services offers the volunteer an opportunity to walk dogs that are housed at the Central Animal Facility. Our dogs range in size from small Beagles to large hounds, so there is something for everyone. The building is open to volunteers from 8:30am to 4:15pm Monday to Friday. The Arboretum Auxiliary – Various
The Arboretum Auxiliary is a group of enthusiastic individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to assist The Arboretum in meeting its Mission Statement. To achieve this, the Auxiliary is divided into a number of activity groups, each with their own particular area of responsibility within The Arboretum, working with staff members when appropriate. Contact is maintained through Auxiliary Newsletters, The Arboretum newsletter,"The Green Web", and an Auxiliary e-mail list. We hope that we can match your interests to our needs. Centre for Students with Disabilities – Various
The CSD is always looking for volunteers to assist our students and staff with various tasks. Some of these tasks are:
- Acting as a sighted guide for students who are visually impaired
- Volunteer note taking in class
- Reading texts or other materials onto tape
- Assisting students in the library with research and photocopying reserve notes
- Coaching students with learning disabilities – helping them with organization and time management skills
- Working with the REC Club (Recreation Equity on Campus Club)
- Assisting students in a one-to-one setting academically and practically
- Assisting with workshops

Department of Athletics – Various
The Canadian voluntary and nonprofit sector engages 6.5 million volunteers. Are you interested in being one of the 6.5 million? We are always looking for alumni and friends to help with events, fundraising initiatives and provide valuable feedback and guidance to ensure our programs meet the needs of the Department of Athletics and our alumni.
