Welcome to the Bachelor of Arts & Sciences (BAS) program degree at the University of Guelph. As parents/guardians, family and friends of students that are applying to the BAS program or already enrolled in it, we certainly recognize that this is also an important time for you as roles and relationships change. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to ensure that our students are set up for success.
One way that we help to develop our students is regardless of their age, we treat them like the young adults they are becoming. Even though we recognize it is often with the best of intentions, if asked we are unable to share the details of students’ personal information around their academics and performance related issues here at the University of Guelph. The only way we can share any information is if the student has given us explicit written permission. When possible, we prefer to work directly with the students rather than through other individuals, to ensure clear and consistent communication. In this way, we encourage you to engage in open-communication with each other and encourage the students to personally utilize the resources provided to them here on campus.
We welcome you to the University of Guelph community as family and friends of both prospective and current students! This is certainly a time of change and transition for you as well as our students. We look forward to working with you to support our students here at the University of Guelph. As with the students, we invite you to contact us at bas@uoguelph.ca if you have any questions or concerns.
