From the President ...
Coming back to the University of Guelph is always a special experience. Coming back for Alumni Weekend is even better! Alumni Weekend 2012 gave us a chance to hold our CBSAA AGM as well as take a tour through the new Biodiversity Institute of Ontario (BIO). Thank you to everyone who participated. It was fantastic to see new faces and plan for the upcoming year.
We also had a record-setting turn out for our annual Royal Botanical Garden (RBG) family event in May. It was a perfect day for meeting old and new friends over lunch and touring the grounds. It was also great to hear from RBG Head Scientist Dr. David Galbraith (CBS B.Sc. 1982) about the work being done at RBG.
Our next event is coming up quickly. Our 2nd Annual disc golf event will be held on the course in the Arboretum on Homecoming Weekend (Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 am). This sport is easy for all ages and athletic levels – no experience required! And if you don't want to play you can join us for a walk through the gorgeous course. We hope you can make it and look forward to meeting you!
Dr. Kim Bretz, CBS B.Sc. 1997
