Modifying mailto links in browsers
Below are some more options you can make use of in order to modify the behaviour of the mailto links. Please note that these suggestions are third party programs, provided as-is and we do not provide support for them.
Zimbra Tray (http://sourceforge.net/projects/zimbratray/)
- Requires JRE (Java Runtime Environment)
- Also includes notification about incoming emails, events, etc.
Affixa (http://www.affixa.com/)
This Windows-only application allows you to modify the behaviour of the mailto system wide, i.e. mailto links in documents will also associate with Gryph mail as well as "Send to" option within the context menu of files.
- Download and install.
- Set up the account using you Gryph mail credentials.
- Select as the default app to use when opening mailto links, in our case Zimbra and the URL is https://mail.uoguelph.ca
- Save the changes.
Notes:
- It requires purchase of a licence for academic use, purchase of the software is up to the user or their department.
- This application creates a draft message (Folder Drafts in Gryph mail), it does not open a new compose window.
