Wireless Service (Internet)

The University of Guelph wireless network is available in various locations around campus and allows users to seamlessly check their email, surf the web and access the network without plugging in cables. You simply need a laptop (available for loan while in the Library) or mobile device with a Wi-Fi compatible 802.11g wireless network card and a Central Login Account. Guests on campus can acquire free temporary wireless access by obtaining a U of G Guest Access Account

Who can use the Wireless Service:

Wireless network and internet access at the University of Guelph is available to all faculty, staff and students.

How do I Request or Access the Wireless Service?

University of Guelph offers three options for On-Campus Wireless:

Guests on campus can access the wireless network as long as they have acquired a U of G Guest Access account.

If you are a local network administrator and would like information about how to provide wireless connectivity in your building, please contact the CCS Help Centre at 519-824-4120 ext. 58888.

Wireless Service Expectations and Policy

The service is available 24 X 7 except during scheduled maintenance or unplanned service interruptions.  Check CCS Service Updates on the CCS website for announcements regarding service interruptions.

Users of the service should review the Wireless Local Area Network Policy.

Costs (if any)

There is no charge to use the University of Guelph wireless network if you already have a Central Login account. Guests on campus can access the wireless network as long as they have acquired a U of G Guest Access account.
