Course Evaluation

Course Evaluation (CEVAL) is an online system designed to allow students to provide feedback on their credit courses and the professors and teaching assistants who teach them.    During each semester’s course evaluation period (usually the last two weeks of the semester prior to final exams) students access CEVAL through a common website which displays their current credit courses and provides links to the associated evaluations.

For departments, CEVAL contains extensive tools to monitor student response rates during the evaluation period, send reminder email messages to students enrolled in a class, and to perform extensive reporting and analysis.

CEVAL supports evaluations conducted both online and via ScanTron paper forms administered in class.

  • Departments appoint a Course Evaluation Coordinator (CEC) to prepare their own evaluations, reports, etc. using online tools.
  • CCS consultants are available for introductory training on how to use CEVAL.
  • CECs can receive assistance with CEVAL issues via the CCS Help Centre.

If you need more scantron forms (survey form 50) you can order them from the Staples catalogue: Z98UG03100

Who can use Course Evaluation:

University of Guelph students are eligible to use the online service on a course-by-course basis to evaluate their courses.
Staff members can be appointed as a CEC at the behest of their department.

How do I Request or Access Course Evaluation:

The Course Evaluation service is hosted at https://ceval.uoguelph.ca/ which uses the Central Login ID for access (much like Gryph Mail, or Courselink).  Students are automatically granted access to the student view, and courses available for evaluation will automatically appear as their course evaluation window opens.

Staff requiring access as a Course Evaluation Coordinator (CEC) should have their Department contact 58888help@uoguelph.ca to identify them as a CEC and have their access permissions set.
