Web Conferencing Tools

Web conference tools provide a valuable opportunity for the university campus, allowing interactive, personal communications across the Internet, for one-to-one or one-to-many collaborative situations. There are a variety of tools available for delivering web conferences and CCS is pleased to recommend various web conference tools that will suit the needs of the U of G community, along with helpful documentation.

The list of recommended tools includes a licensed Adobe Connect option, along with a variety of free solutions. We have explored these solutions and provide information on these solutions in the following pages.

Note: CCS will not be able to provide IT support for any of these tools, and will only provide license and connection support for Adobe Connect Pro.

Important:
Dimdim has been acquired by salesforce.com. Your free Dimdim account will remain active until March 15, 2011. After that date, you will no longer be able to access your free Dimdim account.

Salesforce has provided a FAQ page for information regarding the impact of the takeover. It can be found here.

It is important to know that any saved meeting content or documents will not be available for download after March 15, 2011. Details on saving your content can be found through the FAQ.
