Deleting Your Website

In order to delete your personal site, there are series of steps that need to be followed to return everything to its default settings.

The reason for using an FTP client is for ease of use and simplicity in changing permissions. The general steps needed to accomplish the deletion are shown below:

  1. Connect to home (Central ID) folder
  2. Delete public_html folder OR disbale site

We strongly suggest you use FileZilla as an FTP client but any FTP client with capabilities for SFTP will work. For more information on what FileZilla is read this.

If you want to permamnently delete your website, please follow the instructions below:

Deleting your Website

In order to permanently delete your page, you will have to delete the public_html folder.

  1. To delete the public_html folder, right-click on the public_html folder and click Delete.

If you want to disable your page in order to keep the data stored in the pages, please follow the instructions below:

Disabling your Website

In order to disable your page, you will have to change the permission on the public_html folder.

  1. To change the permissions on the public_html folder, right-click on the public_html folder and click File Attributes. This option might also come in the form of File Options or Properties.

    NOTE: In the case of CoreFTP you will have to double-click the ".." to go up a level. This might take some time due to the vast amount of folders in this directory.

     
     

  2. In the Numeric Value, enter 700

     

  3. Click OK.
