The following detailed example on how to connect to the server and create the directory uses FileZilla as an FTP cleint.

Connecting to the Server

  1. Go to File > Site Manager
  2. Click on New Site.
  3. Enter in a name for your connection.
  4. Use the settings shown in the Connection Settings section.
  5. Click Connect; Once you have successfully connected, you will be in your home directory automatically - You will see both, your local directories as well as the remote folders.

Setting Permissions

In order for the web page to be accessible, certain permissions need to be set. To do this follow the instructions below:

  1. To set up the permissions, right-click on your Central ID folder and click File Attributes. This option might also come in the form of File Options or Properties.

NOTE: In the case of CoreFTP you will have to double-click the ".." to go up a level. This might take some time due to the vast amount of folders in this directory.

  1. In the Numeric Value, enter 711.

  1. Click OK.

Creating the defaul folder

The Remote Folder should be in the form of /users/a/#/id, where "a" will be a letter and "#" will be a number and "id" will be your Central ID.

In the Remote Folder a new folder needs to be created to hold all of the files that will be in your webpage. To do this follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on your Central ID folder in the Remote Folder view and click Create Directory

NOTE: In the case of CoreFTP, it will be under "Directory Commands" and it is called "Make Directory"

NOTE: If for some reason, the option cannot be selected, it means that the Permissions are still being changed so wait a few seconds and try again.

  1. Change the name from New Directory to public_html
  2. Click OK

Now you can start publishing to your website.
