Make a Connection!
Co-operative Education & Career Services' Connections program involves students, employers and University of Guelph alumni. It gives current students the opportunity to learn first-hand about careers they are interested in, while allowing employers an opportunity to raise the profile of their organization and alumni a chance to give back to their alma mater.
Through informational interviewing and job shadowing, current students can explore occupational options, develop informational interview skills, and begin to develop their personal network in the world of work.
In addition to promoting their profession and organization, alumni and employers are assisting students to explore career choices, prepare for a job interview, and discover possible options for their specific majors.
Diversity and Connections
As part of the Connections program, participating alumni and employers will have the opportunity to disclose if they are a member of a diverse or multicultural population. This will allow students from these diverse groups the possibility of connecting with someone who is of a similar background and who can provide insight into specific and unique opportunities and challenges they may face as part of the labour force.
