Employer & Alumni Guide to Connections

How does the Connection program work?

As an employer or alum you are asked to create a Connections account by entering your employment information, educational information, and what connections you are willing to make with our students. Find out more information about:

What kind of time commitment am I expected to give?

The time commitment is up to you. You can connect over the phone, via email, or in person. You can decide how often and for how long.

Connections and raising your company profile on campus

As an employer, the Connections program offers an opportunity to raise the on-campus profile of the organization you work for. In addition to the personal contact you may have with a student, your profile with Connections will allow you to participate in Career Events and Employer Panels offered by Co-operative Education & Career Services.  There is no charge to participate in these events and they are another great way to profile your organization to students.

You will be able to be specific about what connections you are willing to make with students and the Co-operative Education & Career Services department

*If you are willing to have your information viewed by students, and to be contacted by students directly:

In your “Profile”, check off “Informational Interview” and/or “Job Shadow” as activities you are open to participating in

*If you do not wish to have your information viewed by students, and have signed up for Connections solely to participate in Co-operative Education & Career Services events:

In your “Profile” do not check off “Informational Interview” and “Job Shadow” as activities you are willing to participate in.
