Canadian Association for Community Service-Learning: a national network of CSL practitioners and researchers. CACSL encourages community service-learning in Canada through providing information, resources, networking opportunities and advocacy.

Campus Compact: a U.S. national coalition of more than 950 college and university presidents - representing some 5 million students - dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education.
National Service Learning Clearinghouse: this major U.S. Learn and Serve America resource supports the service-learning community in higher education, kindergarten through grade twelve, community-based initiatives and tribal programs, as well as all others interested in strengthening schools and communities using service-learning techniques and methodologies.
Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning: a U.S. national, peer-reviewed journal consisting of articles written by faculty and service-learning educators on research, theory, pedagogy, and issues pertinent to the service-learning community.

Guide to Researcher and Knowledge – User Collaboration in Health Research
This guide specifically outlines the importance of discussing the results of CBR research with those who participated in the research and will be using the results. The guide also offers helpful advice on how to find partners for CBR projects, and provides examples of barriers & solutions to participating in Community Based Research.
This evidence-based curriculum is intended as a tool for community-institutional partnerships that are using or planning to use a CBPR approach to improving health. It can be used by partnerships that are just forming as well as mature partnerships.

Participatory Action Research can be complicated – Bruce Wallace
Important resource to read because it talks about romanticizing participatory research, and the danger this can cause for the communities involved. The author identifies several questions that your research group and involved community organizations should ask before pursuing participatory research, such as identifying what will be a research drain on the community involved. The article ends with the author I think we should be asking “how can we get researchers to participate in communities?”
