Libraries are Changing, but Our Values Remain the Same

These are exciting times for Libraries.

As information becomes more commodified, the Library’s role becomes even more relevant. Issues such as copyright infringement, author rights and publishing of academic research and creative materials speak directly to the Library’s core values of innovation, accessibility and intellectual freedom; our digital collections initiative and Institutional Repository are direct descendents of our traditional stewardship role; and the Library’s increased commitment to enhancing student learning, leading curriculum change and growing the research enterprise supports our time-honoured dedication to learning.

The Chief Librarian and Chief Information Officer works to ensure that we never lose sight of our past as we move towards our bright future.
