Committees

Welcome!  This page is "home base" for the various IT Committees that contribute to the operation of the University's IT Decision Framework.

The senior University IT committee is the Information Technology Steering Committee (ITSC).  The mandate of ITSC includes setting the expectations of IT regarding its role in supporting the University's mission and objectives.

The Information Services Council (ISC) is the main forum responsible for considerations of enterprise IT.  ISC represents the diverse needs of the University and has wide representation from across the community, including IT service providers, colleges, administrative and student support units, and two student representatives.  The Council applies an institutional perspective in evaluating enterprise information services and infrastructure.

The ISC has a standing Sub-committee to review enterprise IT architecture and infrastructure services.

The ITSAC (IT Student Advisory Committee) is a forum for students to share their concerns and priorities aboutt information technology at the University.  The committee is mandated to develop a report each year and present this to Computing & Communications Services (CCS) management.

The ITSIG (IT Special Interest Group) is a group whose membership is drawn from information technology staff, particularly departmental network administrators, throughout the University of Guelph.  This group meets monthly to discuss IT issues, share information and to foster a greater sense of community amongst IT staff across our campuses.
