E-Books - True Confession

Yes I purchase e-books for the Library; lots and lots of them. But do I read them myself? True confession: like many, my use of e-books has been to read parts of a book; chapters, sections, pages. Never "cover to cover."

Until now.

How Professors ThinkHow Professors Think

I've just finished reading How Professors Think by Michele Lamont. Yes, an ironic choice for my first e-book.

I used the Kindle reader on my iPad. First, it's a very interesting book and second, it was a very satisfying reading experience. The Kindle reader is simple, obvious, and unobtrusive. I like the bookmarking and note features. But mostly I liked the book; that I was reading on a "device" faded away quickly. I was a bit bothered by the glare on the iPad; not a serious problem.

We know now that e-books out sell hardcover books at Amazon. It was time for me to take the plunge. I am now officially an e-book convert.
