The IT Repository contains 'meta data' (i.e. descriptive information) about the University's major Application systems and infrastructure services. A brief description of the data elements being collected for each Asset is here.

 A 1-page management 'brief' outlining the planned deliverables and functionality of the Repository is available at the bottom of this page.

Populating the web-based on-line Repository is proceeding concurrently with development, however we need the support and engagement of the University community in building and sustaining the repository. Templates have been designed for capturing information 'off-line' on IT Assets and IT demand, available here processes.

Our strategic goal is delivering and sustaining a single, integrated on-line repository which makes visible existing IT assets, with links to "people" records who are connected to the systems/services as owners or providers of technical support.

IT assets include applications (i.e. transaction processing systems), and infrastructure 'services' (i.e. underpinning technologies).

The primary purpose of this repository is to facilitate IT risk management activity, and our expectation is that the information will be sustained as a valuable University resource. Building the on-line repository will move the University to Level One Maturity for Portfolio Management, and is a foundational deliverable of our enterprise security program.
