Anders Thuresson: Lund University, Sweden
Semester(s) | Fall 2007 | Travel Tips | - Bring both MasterCard and Visa, if possible, to be on the safe side.
- Remember to bring those national items of yours that cannot be bought in Canada (very few, but still): Might be VeggieMite for an Australian, real salt liquorice for a Swede etc. Also try to bring other interesting items from back home (flag, something to put on the wall etc).
- Save a lot of time in the Orientation Week process by knowing and sharing your phone extension (if you live on campus residence), your Canadian cellphone and Facebook from your first day here (or get these quick if you haven't already got it!). Very good and important to be able to get in touch in people early on!
| Guelph Highlight | - Many, many good times on campus and downtown with friends from all over the world!
| Travel | - Guelph is fairly close to many great travel destinations: Toronto, New York, Montreal, Ottawa, and Niagara Falls. Greyhound buses and car rentals are excellent ways of getting around, and even more great “local” events are near : beautiful national parks, neighbouring town Kitchener-Waterloo with its Oktoberfest to mention a couple.
| Campus Involvement | - Participating in intramural dodgeball!

- Save as much money as you can before you come over – its amazing how quickly it goes
| | Guelph Highlight | - Going on “Crop tour” with the agricultural students (aggies) – a 2 week field trip through the Midwest of the United States. If you are taking Ag Science or Animal Science you should definitely take this course. It was amazing and I made 50 instant friends!
| | Travel | - Every weekend there is an opportunity to see the sights of Canada. All the exchange students want to travel too so it is easy to organise trips together and participate in planned trips by the CIP.
