This advanced course, sponsored by the
Canadian Network of Toxicology Centres; the Centre for Toxicology; the
Department of Environmental Biology, University of Guelph; and the Office
of Open Learning, University of Guelph will be held at the University
of Guelph from April 16 - 27, 2007.
This University accredited course is designed
for individuals in industry, government, or education who are working in
areas related to toxicology. This course is designed to bring participants
up to current levels of understanding of toxicology as it applies to both
human health and the environment.
This graduate equivalent course normally
requires that learners have a bachelors' or masters' degree with course
work in statistics, chemistry and biology.
Topics covered include: Mechanism of Toxic
Action; Toxicological Principles; Developmental and Reproductive
Toxicology; Human Health Risk Assessment; Ecotoxicology; Epidemiology;
Endocrine Modulators; Carcinogenicity; and Ecotoxicological Risk
Assessment.
