Bruno Mancini

Bruno Mancini is the director of Student Life and Counselling Services and manager of Counselling Services. In addition to his administrative duties and supervision of the counsellor/therapists, he does professional individual and group therapy from a social work background.

Carrie Charles 

Carrie Charles is a counsellor/therapist with extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Her therapeutic approach incorporates the belief; “The fact that a pattern of behaviour and/or “dis-ease” exists, bears no weight over one’s ability to influence change over it.” She has experience working with individuals and groups who experience a wide range of mental health issues, including; anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, and identity issues. Through her experience and education in Sports Psychology, she has assisted athletes in gaining greater focus and clarity for reaching their optimal performance goals. Using a mindfulness approach, Carrie largely supports and encourages clients in reaching their true potential through creating balance in their lives; Mentally, Emotionally, Physically, and Spiritually. Carrie has her Master’s in Counselling Psychology.

Diana Chinnery

Diana Chinnery is a counsellor/therapist with a social work background.  She is a Registered Social Worker who has worked with issues of domestic violence, survivors of sexual assault, and children's mental health.  She has experience engaging with clients in individual, couple, family, and group settings.  Diana has a particular interest in helping individuals with issues of anxiety and depression through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy.

Dorothy Goettler

Dorothy Goettler is a counsellor/therapist with extensive experience in couple, family, individual and group therapy. She is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and a Registered Social Worker. She works in collaborative conversations with people to discover strengths and resources and to build skills to enable them to navigate challenging circumstances, life transitions and crises in relationships. Working from a social-constructionist worldview, tools for therapy include narrative therapy as well as cognitive-behavioural and family or origin approaches.

Karen McClements

Karen McClements is a professional counsellor/therapist from a social work background in Child Welfare. Karen brings an eclectic approach drawing from narrative, cognitive and solution-focused therapies in working with individuals, couples and groups. She works together with clients on a range of issues with interest in depression and anxiety, survivors of sexual abuse and assault and trauma recovery. Karen has co-led groups for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, eating disorders and depression.

Kathryn Douglas

Kathryn Douglas is a psychologist who holds a doctorate in counselling psychology. She has eclectic training in working with individuals and groups. She has led treatment groups for anxiety and panic disorder, communication skills, depression and stress management.

Kathy Waltner-Toews

Kathy Waltner-Toews is a professional counsellor/therapist from a marriage and family therapy, and mental health background. She uses a narrative approach in eliciting inspiration for change.

Peter Wedel

Peter Wedel is a professional counsellor/therapist with a master's degree in marriage and family therapy. He has worked with individuals and groups dealing with a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relational problems, self-esteem, spirituality, grief and trauma. Peter is also experienced in working with couples and families with issues such as communication, conflict resolution and relational dynamics. He draws on diverse approaches including narrative, cognitive-behavioural, solution-oriented, and family of origin.

Rachel Mahrer

Rachel Mahrer is a registered social worker who has worked with students from several different universities. She has a background in trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety and depression management, sexual identity issues and challenges with disabilities. She uses strength based and solution focused approachs as well as cognitive behavioural therapy and attachment based models. She works with individuals, couples, and groups. She facilitates groups dealing with depression and anxiety including social anxiety.

Rob Baldwin

Rob Baldwin is a professional counsellor/therapist with a master's degree in clinical social work. He works with individuals, couples, families and groups. Particular areas of interest include communication, building healthy relationships, men's issues, anger and the integration of psychotherapy and spirituality. Rob uses a wide variety of approaches within a client-centered perspective.

Suzanne Welstead

Suzanne Welstead is a professional counsellor / therapist from a marriage and family therapy and theological background. She uses cognitive, narrative and experiential approaches in her work with individuals, couples and families. Suzanne has co-facilitated self-esteem, body image and anger management groups. Her areas of specialization include spiritual issues, crises of meaning, depression, self-harm and grief / loss.

Sue Gadbois

Sue Gadbois is a Registered Social Worker with training and experience in mental health, issues related to abuse and trauma, life transitions and vocational counselling.  She draws upon narrative, solution-focused, cognitive and mindfulness-based approaches to assist people in rediscovering and building upon their strengths and resources in order to facilitate the changes they want to make in their lives.

Trish Schmidt

Trish helps people identify patterns and plan out strategies to accept or change those patterns. She believes that change is about practicing new behaviours and that behaviours can change without knowing why they began. She runs a group in mindfulness. She is a registered social worker
