Teachers and Guidance Counsellors
Welcome to the Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD) Teachers and Guidance Counsellors site! This site has been developed to provide quick and easy-to-use reference for teachers and guidance counsellors working with students applying for university admission.
We invite you to review the material provided in FAQ for Teachers and Guidance Counsellors and contact us with any questions you may have.
How Teachers and Guidance Counsellors Can Help
From our experience we have learned that students with disabilities who connect with the Centre for Students with Disabilities early in the application and admission process make a better transition to university and are in a better position to begin the Fall semester ready to face the challenges that their disability may present.
As teachers and guidance counsellors, you can help us reach students early by encouraging your students to:
- Download and actively use the Admission and Transition Planner to keep on top of items needing their attention;
- Contact the CSD to ask questions they may have; and
- Let us know they have accepted an offer of admission by completing the New Student Intake Form and submitting it along with their disability documentation byJune 15th.
