Information for Parents & Supporters

Welcome to the School of Engineering! Heading off to university often marks a major transition for our new students and their families.  At the University of Guelph, we recognize the importance of parental guidance and support.  Below you will find helpful information and resources for parents of prospective and current students.

Resources for Parents and Supporters

“It was hard letting our oldest son go away to university as we missed him terribly. The only thing that made it bearable was the fact that he was so happy right from the first day. During our initial visit we sensed the welcoming atmosphere of the students and staff and it grew from there. Calls home always included a great story from one of his  profs or a cool new program he was learning. Guelph engineering is all he hoped for and more in a post  secondary experience. I canʹt imagine him being happier.”

"We chose Guelph because it offers an Environmental Engineering undergraduate degree. The residence academic clusters were helpful to my daughter with school and social transitions. Laura loved the high school conference offered by the School - she received a great introduction to engineering and got a hands on feel for the program she was interested in.  Overall, I found the atmosphere at Guelph and the School of Engineering to be welcoming and I was given the impression that my daughter would be well looked after. Convenient location, awesome food, thumbs up!"
