Commercialization
Commercialization of a transgenic food animal is more complex than many other products and we cannot reliably predict when the Enviropig™ will reach the consumers.

- Proof of principle,
- Collection of food safety information,
- Submission for regulatory approval to each country in which one wishes to commercialize the animal (Regulatory submissions have been made to both the Food and Drug Administration in the United States and to the Canadian Regulatory Authorities),
- Getting the interest of a commercializing partner,
- Expansion of the swine herd
- Negotiations with commercial abattoirs and retail establishments, and finally
- Buy-in by the consumer.
