Burn Demo of Residence Room
U of G’s fire prevention officers are inviting people to come out and watch a "live burn" exercise Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. on Johnston Green. The exercise is aimed at demonstrating to students and the community how fast a residence room can go up in flames and how much time people have to get out safely.
The exercise involves U of G fire prevention officers building a mock student residence room on Johnston Green, complete with discarded furniture from University residences, and setting it on fire to show how quickly fire can spread. Members of the Guelph Fire Department will be on hand to put the fire out.
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: Johnston Green
