Animal Welfare Forum

Learn about current issues in animal welfare and behaviour at the 11th annual OVC Animal Welfare Forum. Organized by OVC's Animal Welfare Club, the event strives to raise public and professional awareness of animal welfare issues, including veterinary medicine, pet ownership, animal behaviour, food safety and public health.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome to support the Animal Welfare Club's education and research initiatives.

This year’s speakers include:
• Katherine Houpt, Cornell University: equine behaviour
• David Lavigne, International Fund for Animal Welfare: the Atlantic seal hunt
• Prof. Sarah Boston, Department of Clinical Studies: implications of companion-animal palliative care
• Gary Francione, Rutgers School of Law/Newark: contemporary animal rights philosophy and modern animal care.

Space is limited, so preregistration is encouraged. Registration information and a complete list of topics and speakers are available online.

Time: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: OVC Lifetime Learning Centre

Please submit details of upcoming events. Events should be submitted at least a week in advance and be open to the general campus community.
