The Convergence Ensemble, consisting of instrumentalists Gerard Yun (shakuhachi, didgeridoo and native flute), Kathryn Ladano (bass clarinet) and Sandro Manzon (piano), use improvisation to explore new modes of meaning and expression rooted in the aesthetics of global music. Each instrument is used in its traditional mode, but each is also pushed into new modes of expression. This is a free concert and everyone is welcome.
