Scope and Accountability:
This 12 month contract librarian position will help the Information Resources (IR) Team implement, support, and advance the core activities listed below in managing the Library’s information resources and collections. The Serials Librarian will focus on supporting the IR Team in core areas, notably acquisitions support and serials management, while also providing a prescribed level of support to the Electronic Resources Management (ERM) Work Team during the term of the Electronic Resources Librarian’s research leave (8 months).
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include providing a high level of professional support to the core Information Resources work by supporting the core acquisitions, electronic resources and serials management functions of the library. This will include verification and reconciliation for consortia licensed electronic resources, troubleshooting access issues related to licensing / subscription matters, vendor communication management, support for core ILS functionalities (such as records maintenance) and assisting IR staff in identifying and resolving technical and procedural matters related to cataloguing and management of resources (both print and online).
The Serials Librarian will support staff across other Library units in the ongoing management of various ERM systems and provide specific troubleshooting support for the ERM Work Team when the Electronic Resources Librarian is on research leave. The Serials Librarian will also participate on a number of Library committees, and may represent the University of Guelph on regional (TUG) and/or provincial committees as appropriate.

Qualifications:
An ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree is required. The successful candidate should have some experience working in an academic library setting or equivalent large library system.
