Position Description:	The College of Arts in the University of Guelph is seeking candidates for a two year Contractually Limited Appointment. The candidate will be housed in the School of Languages and Literatures (Solal) and work in two programs: the European Studies program which is located in Solal and in the Art History program which is located in the School of Fine Art and Music (Sofam). Candidates will have a completed PhD in one of the areas, demonstrated high-quality teaching experience, and a strong publication record related to at least one of these areas. The successful candidate will teach courses in both of these programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, engage in research relevant to the programs, and perform university service activities in both Schools. This a 75% full time position. This position bridges the newly created Faculty of Performing and Fine Arts, and the Faculty of Humanities. The successful candidate will work actively in both Faculties and through his/her professional activities in both programs build new links across these Faculties. In particular, we are interested in candidates with expertise in architecture, urbanism, monuments and monumentality, history of photography, and aesthetics. The successful candidate will have knowledge of these areas in the context of European and Modern history and be able to relate them analytically to the cultures of the 19th and 20th centuries.
