Position Description:


The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Guelph invites applications for one tenure track position in the area of Hospitality Services Leadership at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The School is part of the College of Management and Economics and offers two (2) Bachelor of Commerce majors, one in Hotel and Food Administration and one in Tourism Management. Responsibilities of this position will include teaching in the Department’s undergraduate Hotel and Food Administration major, co-op coordination, industry liaison, and scholarly research.


The University of Guelph is a top-ranked comprehensive university in Canada with a total enrolment of 18,000+.  It is located in Guelph, Ontario (with a population of approximately 120,000) which is a one-hour drive west of Toronto, Ontario.


Applicants must have a Master’s Degree (earned doctorate preferred) with at least one degree in Hospitality Management or a closely related field.  Preference will be given to those who have both a record of significant senior leadership roles within the hospitality industry and advanced academic credentials.


This appointment begins June 17, 2013.
