Position Description:


Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, a research–intensive department at the University of Guelph, invites applications for a tenure–track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Biomechanics and Neurophysiology, with an emphasis on applied/clinical biomechanics.


The suddessful candidate will be a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine with significant clinical experience and have a PhD, postdoctoral and/or Faculty research experience, and the ability to maintain a productive research program in the area of biomechanics and neurophysiology. Preference will be given to candidates with a research emphasis that involves the study of chronic pain and degenerative spine and joint disease (i.e. osteoarthritis). Prior experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate student research projects would be an asset.


The Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences offers undergraduate Honours B.Sc. programs in Human Kinetics, Biomedical Sciences and Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences at the University of Guelph with a total enrolment of ~1500 students and an undergraduate BASc program in Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber (~380 students). The Department also has a vibrant graduate program with an enrolment of ~110-120 graduate students each year.

Teaching responsibilities will be in the broad biomechanics area with special emphasis in the areas of health and injury biomechanics, and clinical biomechanics at the University of Guelph and the University of Guelph-Humber.
