Position Description:

The Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, is seeking applicants for a one-year contractually limited faculty position in Theriogenology at the Assistant Professor level.  Applicants will have a DVM or equivalent degree and a MSc, DVSc or PhD in Theriogenology or a related field, and experience in practice and teaching.  Board - Certification by the American College of Theriogenologists is preferred.  Candidates should be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications.

The major focus of the position will be to contribute to teaching in the professional DVM program, and clinical services within the veterinary teaching hospital. The successful candidate will teach lectures in large animal theriogenology, and conduct undergraduate mare and cow palpation, obstetrics and semen evaluation laboratories.  Clinical service and teaching will require demonstrated expertise in equine and canine theriogenology. Therefore, experience and willingness to fulfill clinical theriogenology duties in multiple species will be an advantage.  The successful candidate will participate in providing after-hours emergency hours referral service in Theriogenology.  The position will include approximately 70% teaching and 20% service and 10% research.
