Position Description:

The Department of Psychology, in the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences at the University of Guelph, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Behavioural Neuroscience at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related discipline, and a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of research excellence, research productivity, and independent research funding, as well as an established record of teaching effectiveness.

Within a multidisciplinary environment that includes scientists in Behavioural Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, and Comparative Neuroscience in different departments, the successful candidate will provide research and teaching contributions to Collaborative Programs in Neuroscience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in multidisciplinary research focused on animal models of disease, learning and memory processes, and/or addictive behaviours.

The Department of Psychology (http://www.uoguelph.ca/psychology) provides high-quality undergraduate education and research training in four main fields: Neuroscience & Applied Cognitive Science (https://www.uoguelph.ca/psychology/graduate/nacs), Clinical Psychology: Applied Developmental Emphasis, Industrial-Organizational and Applied Social Psychology. In addition to courses in the BA and BSc Neuroscience programs, the department offers MA, MSc and PhD programs in each of the departmental disciplines.
