Position Description:

Reporting to the of the Associate Director Academic (Ridgetown Campus), the College Professor will be responsible for teaching courses to students in the Equine Care and Management Diploma program and the Performance Horse Handler Certificate program for the Ridgetown Campus. Instruction will be located at the Regional Equine and Agricultural Centre of Huron, in Clinton, Ontario. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of topics to help students develop proficiency in the equine industry. Specific topics could include anatomy, physiology, reproduction, nutrition, conditioning, health, and management. The incumbent will be responsible for development, preparation and delivery of appropriate course materials; evaluation of student progress; and individual academic consultations with students. In addition, the College Professor will be involved in student recruitment/promotion, curricular and program development, and other pedagogical activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or PhD degree, as well as a minimum of three years of work experience in the equine industry. However, candidates with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree and three years of work experience in the equine industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. The successful candidate will have experience teaching at the post-secondary level, proven oral and written communication skills, proficiency with MS Office and Internet applications, as well as a record of excellent teamwork.

Normal hiring range is $60,900 - $75,000 per annum and will be commensurate with qualifications. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2017 or until a suitable candidate is found. Please send a letter of interest, a resume and the contact information for three references to:
