Position Description:

The Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, is seeking applicants for a one-year contractually limited (temporary, full-time from January 2, 2018 to December 31, 2018) faculty position in Ruminant Health Management at the Assistant Professor level.  Applicants will have a DVM or equivalent degree and a DVSc or PhD in Epidemiology, Health Management or a related field, and experience in practice and teaching. Candidates must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching in ruminant areas of the professional DVM program, and clinical service and teaching within the Ruminant Field Service of the OVC Health Sciences Centre. The successful candidate will teach lectures in the Health Management 3, beef module (year 3 DVM), ruminant lectures in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery (year 3 DVM), and Clinical Medicine Laboratories in first year of the DVM program.  Clinical service and teaching will require demonstrated expertise in ruminant health management. The successful candidate will participate in providing after-hours emergency duty as required/scheduled in the Ruminant Field Service practice.  In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to collaborate and assist with various existing ruminant related research projects, which are at varying stages of completion.  The position will include approximately 40% teaching and 40% research and 20% service.
