Position Description:
We are seeking applications from current OAC faculty members for the position of Associate Dean (External Relations).
The Associate Dean (External Relations) (ADER) is a key member of the OAC senior leadership team and in this role is expected to expand and elevate OAC's capacity for stewarding existing and building new external relationships, and OAC's profile and recognition within and beyond the University of Guelph. In this respect, the ADER will actively and creatively support key strategic initiatives across OAC including; communications, development, alumni affairs, awards, student liaison and recruitment, government relations, and research partnerships.
Responsibilities will include:
- Expanding and improving OAC communication and outreach capacity and initiatives to serve OAC's strategic goals, in particular student liaison and recruitment.
- Strengthening and building relationships with alumni, friends and partners of OAC (including government and government agencies) and working closely with OAC Chairs and Directors, other Associate Deans, Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) staff and leadership, and others across the University as required to ensure coordination of partnership efforts to meet the strategic goals of the College and the University of Guelph.
- In partnership with OAC's AA&D team, working to realize development opportunities for OAC.
- Supervising staff within the OAC Dean's Office.
- Attending OAC Dean's Council and other relevant committees, and interacting directly with other OAC and University units.
- Other activities include representing OAC internally and externally, acting on behalf of other Associate Deans and acting as Dean, as necessary.
The Associate Dean (External Relations) position will be a 70% administrative appointment.
