Position Title: Associate Dean, External Relations (Internal)

Position Description:

The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) at the University of Guelph are seeking applications from current CEPS faculty members for the position of Associate Dean External Relations.

The Associate Dean, External Relations (ADER) is a key member of the CEPS senior leadership team and in this role is expected to expand and elevate CEPS’s capacity for stewarding existing and building new external relationships, and CEPS’s profile and recognition within and beyond the University of Guelph. In this respect, the ADER will actively and creatively initiate and support key strategic initiatives across CEPS including; development, alumni affairs, student liaison and recruitment, government relations, and research partnerships.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Expanding and improving CEPS outreach capacity, community relationships and initiatives to serve CEPS's strategic goals, in particular international student liaison and recruitment.
  2. Strengthening and building relationships with alumni, friends and partners of CEPS (including government and government agencies) and working closely with CEPS Chairs and Directors, other Associate Deans, Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) staff and leadership, and others across the University as required to ensure coordination of partnership efforts to meet the strategic goals of the College and the University of Guelph.
  3. Supervision of staff.
  4. In partnership with CEPS’s AA&D team, working to realize development opportunities for CEPS’s.
  5. Attending CEPS Dean's Council and other relevant committees, and interacting directly with other CEPS and University units.
  6. Other activities include representing CEPS internally and externally, acting on behalf of other Associate Deans and acting as Dean, as necessary.

The Associate Dean, External Relations position will be a 60% administrative appointment.
