Position Description:
The Library at the University of Guelph invites applications for a contractually-limited position at the Assistant Librarian level. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019; the end date will be April 30, 2020.
The Team:
The Learning & Curriculum Support (L&CS) team advances the educational enterprise of the University and the Library by providing expertise, leadership, services, and resources to support academic objectives and lifelong learning. The Information Literacy team supports students seeking to enhance their research skills and practices and develop a critical approach to the consumption and production of information in academic contexts and beyond. The team also supports faculty seeking to integrate these skills and practices into the curriculum.
Position Description:
As a part of the L&CS team, and reporting to the Manager, Information Literacy, the L&CS Librarian supports information literacy programs and services. Working in a collaborative, team-based environment, and in keeping with the commitment of the Information Literacy team to providing a range of curriculum-integrated, blended, and critical approaches to information literacy, the Librarian designs, teaches, and assesses information literacy programs and services, provides research help and consultations, and conducts outreach face-to-face and online. The Librarian maintains a current awareness of developments in information literacy, scholarly communication, digital media literacies, digital scholarship and pedagogy, academic libraries and higher education, and applies this in a critical fashion in practice. Responsibility for other projects or initiatives may also be assigned.

The position will be filled at the Assistant Librarian level. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and a comprehensive benefits package provided.
