FARE Faculty and Students Honoured at 2015 CAES Awards

The Canadian Agricultural Economics Society hosted an awards ceremony at their annual meeting to recognize and encourage excellence in agricultural economics and related fields. Several members of the FARE family were recognized for excellence in research. M.Sc. alumna Jessica Kelly won the CAES Outstanding Masters Thesis Award for her thesis "The Farm Share in Canada from 1997 to 2010: Identifying Trends in Value Distribution Along the Agri-Food Supply Chain" (Alfons Weersink was her advisor).  FARE faculty member Richard Vyn and M.Sc. program alumni Ryan McCullough won the CAES Outstanding Journal Article Award for their CJAE paper "The Effects of Wind Turbines on Property Values in Ontario".

These awards reflect significant recognition by our professional society, and acknowledge the hard work, dedication and contribution of researchers in the department make towards advancing public discourse. Our heartiest congratulations to all who won!
