About Us
For more than a decade, the Food Safety Network (FSN) has been Canada’s most comprehensive and trusted centre of information and research on food safety issues. As an independent, non-profit organization, the FSN provides a unique and reliable service using current food safety knowledge to help consumers and health professionals make informed decisions.
The FSN team of experienced, professional researchers based at the University of Guelph is dedicated to inform people about food safety issues and reducing food-related illnesses in Canada by:
- Collecting and analyzing current information on food safety from credible Canadian and international sources;
- Communicating evidence-based information to Canadians and to the international community through various methods including the Internet, publicly-available documents and the telephone.
Through careful and detailed analysis of all available private and public research materials, the FSN provides balanced, accurate and objective food safety information without affiliation to any private or government organization. The FSN can also perform in-depth analysis and evaluation of research with emphasis on specific aspects of food safety.
