Tracing food science at the University of Guelph and North America is the title of a 149-page document retired Food Science Professor Dr. David W. Stanley finalized in March 2006. His objective was "to document the progression of Food Science at the University of Guelph through examining its origins against the background of academic food studies elsewhere in North American and the general evolution of the University."
We provide several versions of his work on this website. Please click on the various options to open or download the pdf versions. Printed copies are available from Prof. Stanley.
Prof. Stanley and Dr. Les Szijarto have also written a history of the development of infrared milk analysis in Guelph, Ontario, the first automated electronic central milk testing facility in the world.
