Undergraduate Learning

The Geography undergraduate curriculum emphasizes environmental governance, socio-economic systems, biophysical processes, and methods for geographic analysis. Three distinct majors (Geography, Environmental Geography and Earth Surface Science) permit students to explore a wide range of geographical phenomenon. Reflecting a long-standing tradition in the discipline, field work, empirical research, and experiential learning are central in the undergraduate curriculum.

Distance Education

Students can access the Department's expertise through courses offered in the distance education format. Courses offered in this format address topics in human, physical, and environmental geography.

Graduate Learning and Training

Graduate research is extremely important in the Department of Geography. Students collaborate closely with advisors to explore a range of themes in human geography, physical geography, and environmental management. The Department offers graduate programs leading to Master's and Doctoral degrees.
