The purpose of this study was to assess the implications of the Keeyask Generating Station in Manitoba on the surrounding environment. There were 5 factors included in the MCE model which first produced individual raster maps that displayed the area of concern for each factor. Each factor was then incorporated into a final raster map at low, medium, and high inundation which displayed the overall impact of the Keeyask Dam at varying water elevation. The accuracy of the level of impact on at each inundation is examined and discussed further in the outcome of each research objective below.
Objective 1: Identify Criteria at Risk After the Construction of the Keeyask Dam
Objective 2: Design GIS Model to Assess Potential Risks to the Criteria at the Keeyask Reservoir
Objective 3: Apply GIS Model to Determine Level of Risk of Keeyask Dam on Multiple Inundation
Objective 4: Evaluate Strengths and Limitations of GIS Model
