Leave for Change 2011

U of G is again sponsoring employees to participate in the 5th year of the Leave for Change program.

Leave for Change provides regular full-time staff and faculty exciting new opportunities to volunteer their knowledge and skills during short assignments in developing countries. This program is being offered through Uniterra, a joint initiative of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CEIC). Applicants selected by Uniterra to take part in Leave for Change transform their vacation into short international assignments with the support of development professionals. To date, the University has sponsored 24 volunteers who have worked with partners in Botswana, Nepal, Vietnam, Guatemala and Ghana. Please visit our Leave for Change webpage for further information.

Those interested in learning more about this program are invited to attend a public information session to be held on Thursday February 10th, 2011 from noon to 1:15 pm in Room 442, University Centre. There will be a brief presentation, as well, past Leave for Change participants will share their experiences.

Based on Uniterra's current needs for overseas volunteers, we invite application(s) from suitably qualified regular full-time employees for the following Leave for Change opportunities: http://www.uniterra.ca/ under "leave for change".
