Retirees in Receipt of a Monthly Pension (U of G Pensioners)

Retirees in receipt of a monthly pension should be aware of the following requirements and information:

Contact Information – You need to inform the University of changes to your contact information (e.g. phone number, address change, etc.). Human Resources can inform CIBC Mellon and SunLife on your behalf. You can make this change by emailing hr@uoguelph.ca or call 519-824-4120 ext. 53374.

T4A
– Your tax slip is mailed early in the Calendar year from CIBC Mellon. Contact them directly if you have not received your T4A by the end of February. You can contact CIBC Mellon toll free at 1-800-565-0479.

Extended Health and Dental Premium Deductions – Your Year-To-Date premium payments are available on your December pension statement. If you have misplaced your statement, contact CIBC Mellon directly at 1-800-565-0479 for a replacement.    

Death of a Spouse – Please contact us directly at 519-824-4120 ext. 56594 to inform us if your spouse has passed away. We will inform CIBC Mellon and SunLife and adjust any Extended Health and Dental premium deductions as necessary.

Indexing – In September of each year, the previous year’s Consumer Price Index for Canada (limited to 8%) that is in excess of 2% is applied as an increase to your monthly pension payment. For September 1, 2011 the increase has been calculated to be 0.14%
