2012 University Entrance Scholarship

 

IN-COURSE AND ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

In-Course Scholarships – All applicants must have filled in this application HTM Undergrad Scholarship Application Form along with any other information the Scholarship requires. Applications are submitted to “HTM Awards Committee Chair, MACS 101”. Deadline January 31, 2012.

Please note:  CHF Entrance Scholarship Applications will be posted in January, please check back.

Dorothy Shantz Memorial Scholarship Third or Fourth Year

Student registered in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who has completed at least 11.0 (third year) - 15.0 (fourth year) credits, depending upon the year, with a minimum 70% cumulative average. One Scholarship will be awarded.

E.D. Smith Scholarship in Food Service Administration 

Student who has demonstrated an interest in the food service industry, has maintained a minimum of 'B' average and has completed 7.0 - 10.5 credits of a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Frank Hughes Memorial Scholarship

Full-time student in the B.Comm. program in any major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who has completed between 11.0 and 14.5 course credits. The winner will be chosen on the basis of three criteria; 1) industry work experience; 2) academic achievement; and 3) extracurricular involvement. Include a resume outlining relevant industry work experience and a detailed list of extracurricular involvement.

George D. Bedell Prize

Student graduating from the B.Comm. program in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who, in the judgment of his/her fellow students, has demonstrated outstanding leadership, versatility of interests and involvement in community affairs both within and outside the School, and is deemed to exemplify the sense of professionalism to which the fourth year students have dedicated themselves.

Greater Toronto Hotel Association Scholarship

Student in a major of the B.Comm. degree program offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and has completed HTM*2100 (Lodging Operations) in the top five grades, to submit a statement of up to 500 words explaining their interest in the lodging industry.

HAFA HTM Alumni Association Scholarship

Student registered in the B.Comm. program in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who has completed 7.0 – 10.5 credits or 11 – 14.50 credits. Applicants must have at least a 70% average in the last two full-time equivalent semesters (one full-time semester is 2 or more credits). The recipient must have participated in extracurricular activities at the University of Guelph. One scholarship will be awarded.

HAFA/HTM Alumni Association Recognition of Achievement Prize

A graduating student in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who has at least a 70% average and involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Leo Lecours Memorial Scholarship

Student in the B.Comm. program, in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who has made a substantial contribution to the School and/or the hospitality industry. Particular attention will be paid to those applicants and nominees who are keenly focused on and enthusiastic about a career in the hospitality industry. Include a 500-word statement on career goals and objectives.

Smart Serve Ontario Scholarships

Students in the B.Comm. program in a major offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who have completed between 6.0 - 8.0 course credits with the highest cumulative average and the Smart Serve certification program. One scholarship will be awarded.

Trailcon Leasing Inc. Scholarship

Students enrolled in a major of the BComm. degree program offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management who have completed at 7.0 - 10.5 credits with a minimum 75% average in the last two full-time equivalent semesters (one full-time semester is 2 or more credits).  Include a statement of up to 500-words citing participation in athletics.
