Main Symposium Sessions – Hazards of pesticides to bees


Regulatory review – honeybee risk assessment for pesticides in Europe
    • Risks posed by dusts (working group Forster)
    • Assessment of risks posed by guttation (working group Pistorius)
    • Acceptability of effects in field studies (working group Lewis)
    • Acceptable levels of control and toxic reference mortality from in-cage and field tests (working group Vergnet)
Bee health issues – country specific experiences including Varroa and varroacides
Test methodology - laboratory, semi-field, field, etc.
    • Bee brood testing (working group Becker)
Honey bee poisoning incidents and monitoring schemes
    • Design of post-registration monitoring studies for systemic pesticides (working group Alix;
      link with the advisory group EMAG-PEST)
Bumblebees and other pollinators
    • Exploring pesticide effects on non-Apis bees (outcome of the Setac Pellston workshop; FAO Project of Barbara Herren; STEP Project)

The scientific committee would like to invite participants to raise other issues for consideration as part of the programme. Further details of the meeting will be announced in September 2011.

Offers for platform, oral and poster presentations are cordially invited. A one page abstract must be provided before the Symposium.

 

Abstracts

The abstract in English language must arrive by August 31, 2011.
Please follow the instructions below when writing the text:

  • Title (bold small letters, 14 point body)
  • First and second (family) name of author(s) (bold, small letters, 12 point body)
  • Address of first (presenting) author (small letter, 12 point body)
  • Text (12 point body)
  • Send by email: use rtf format and MS word PC. Give the file the name of the first author
  • The abstract must be a maximum of 1 A4 page, single spaced.  Margins: 2.5 cm, font: Times New Roman
  • Request for platform or poster
  • Identify preferred session from list above, if applicable (other sessions may be organised based on abstracts received)
  • Abstracts must be submitted with a Registration form
