About the University
Established in 1964, U of G consists of seven colleges whose undergraduate and graduate programs span the natural and physical sciences, social sciences and humanities:
- College of Social and Applied Human Sciences
- College of Management and Economics
- College of Arts
- College of Biological Science
- College of Physical and Engineering Science
- Ontario Agricultural College
- Ontario Veterinary College
The main campus spans 1,007 acres (407 hectares), including a 408‑acre (165‑hectare) arboretum. In addition, 218 acres (88 hectares) of heritage trust lands adjacent to the main campus include a 55 acre (16‑hectare) research park which is the centre of a major agri-bio cluster.
Beginning in Fall 2002, the University of Guelph-Humber admitted students to its programs. The University of Guelph-Humber builds on the combined strengths and traditions of the University of Guelph and Humber College - two of Ontario’s leading educational institutions. Students receive an honours university degree and an applied college diploma in just four years.
The University of Guelph through its enhanced partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) includes 3 college campuses at Alfred, Kemptville and Ridgetown which award diplomas.
